Remote Education
Remote Education at Heron Academy
At Heron Academy, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, including those learning from home, continue to access a high-quality, personalised education that meets their individual needs. It can be very difficult to provide remote education fr our pupils, however those who are able to engage with remote education are provided with the below provision.
Provision for Pupils Learning from Home
-
Personalised Resources: Each pupil learning from home receives resources that are tailored to their individual needs and learning objectives. This may include literacy and numeracy packs, life skills activities, and careers considerations.
-
Curriculum Access: Resources are designed to provide continuity in learning across key subjects, practical skills, and enrichment opportunities. They reflect the pupil’s EHCP targets, PLIM's, and current classwork.
-
Monitoring and Feedback: Class teachers monitor the completion of home learning, provide feedback, and assess progress against personalised targets. Teachers adapt materials as needed to ensure they remain accessible and engaging for each pupil.
Engagement and Support
-
Staff maintain regular contact with pupils and families to offer guidance, address challenges, and ensure that learning resources are used effectively.
-
Teachers adapt approaches to meet varying levels of access, ability, and engagement, ensuring that every pupil can participate meaningfully in their learning.
-
Where pupils are unable to access certain resources remotely, alternative methods are provided to maintain inclusion and progression.
At Heron Academy, our remote education approach ensures that learning continues safely and effectively for all pupils, maintaining personalised support, promoting independence, and monitoring progress in line with individual learning needs.
