Message from Get Rid of it and Donate team

As part of post-16 work experience, a group of our pupils volunteer at the Get Rid of it and Donate centre. We received the below email from the team about the work our pupils have put in this academic year. 

Dear Heron Academy Community,

What an incredible year of partnership we've had! On behalf of the entire Get Rid of it and Donate (GROAD CIC) team, I want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your outstanding collaboration throughout this academic year.

Your commitment to recycling, redistribution, and environmental sustainability has made a real difference in our community. Together, we've not only reduced waste heading to landfills but also supported families and individuals in need through thoughtful redistribution of resources.

Your students, staff, and families have embraced our mission with enthusiasm, and the positive impact has been truly inspiring to witness. Every item donated, every sustainable choice made, and every moment of awareness raised contributes to building a more environmentally conscious and caring community.

As we look ahead to September 2025, we're excited to continue this important work together. We'll be in touch by early August with all the details about how you can get involved in next year's program, including new initiatives and expanded opportunities for impact.
